Before the GT2.
Before the GT3.
Before Porsche learned how to make turbocharged cars feel safe.
There was the 930.
Raw, demanding and unforgettable, the original 911 Turbo became one of the most feared and respected performance cars of its era — earning the legendary “Widowmaker” nickname for good reason.
This 1978 Porsche 930 Turbo is an exceptionally honest and highly documented example with matching numbers, Certificate of Authenticity from Porsche Denmark and Danish registration tax fully paid.
Powered by the iconic 3.3-liter turbocharged flat-six with intercooler producing 300 horsepower, the car delivers exactly what made the 930 legendary: boost that arrives like an event, rear-engine weight transfer, and an analog driving experience modern cars simply cannot replicate.
Originally delivered in the United States, the car spent time in New York, California and later Texas before being parked in 1993 with approximately 80,000 miles on the odometer. In 2014, it was acquired by a Danish owner, the engine was renovated in the USA and the car was imported to Denmark.
Between 2014 and 2020, the car underwent an extensive restoration and refurbishment with large amounts of documentation, invoices and original material included. Parts were sourced through Porsche Centrum Faxe, and the documentation package includes service book, manuals, original price lists and supporting history.
Finished in timeless black over black leather with original sport seats and black Fuchs wheels, the car presents with exactly the kind of understated aggression a proper 930 should have.
Additional highlights include:
• Matching numbers
• Certificate of Authenticity from Porsche Denmark
• Danish taxes fully paid
• 3.3 Turbo with intercooler
• 300 HP
• Extensive restoration documentation
• Original sport seats
• Schwarz (700) exterior
• Black leather interior
• Limited-slip differential (40%)
• Electric sunroof
• Wevo Classic shifter
• Recently serviced and adjusted by Porsche specialist Schönemann
• Fuel pumps recently replaced
The additional US emissions equipment was removed during restoration, allowing the engine to breathe and deliver a far more aggressive turbo response under boost.
And yes — it still feels slightly intimidating.
That is exactly the point.
This is not a modern interpretation of performance.
This is the car that defined it.
A rare opportunity to acquire one of Porsche’s most iconic and emotionally intense road cars — fully sorted, beautifully documented and ready to drive.
